Evil, no doubt in my mind.
I’m torn. I lean towards evil, but I think he’s tormented inside. That and the grudge he carries for Harry’s father.
I think he is good…. But I also think that he is going to die. The order will not believe he is so they will want to kill him and he is no longer a death eater and so Voldemort will want to kill him. I think he will die trying to protect Harry or one of the others. It is a crying shame because he is the deepest and most interesting character in the books. I LOVE HIM.
He is good, or at least I hope so. My theory is this: Dumbledore told Snape to kill him because that space of “the greatest wizard” needs to be filled by Harry, so Dumbledore knew he had to die. This way, Harry is filled with anger to accomplish his task, but, utilizing Dumbledore’s teachings, Hermione’s sense and Ron’s skeptism, Harry’s anger is controlled and he is able to overcome Voldemort and the Death Eaters. As he is about to descend on Snape, either Bellatrix or Voldemort shows up and Snape saves Harry allowing him to get away even as he is killed by either Voldemort or Bellatrix. So, Harry understands what Dumbledore did and focuses his powers on Voldemort. Sirius is not dead; his death in Order of the Phoenix was not obvious enough; it was too shady.
I believe that although Snape has done things, he has a chance to be redeemed, as does Draco, but this is about Snape, so forget about him. I trust Dumbledore’s opinion, despite his mistakes (he can’t be perfect, can he?) Yes, he hates Harry, but that doesn’t make him evil, correct? The Dursleys **** him and though they are vile and cruel, they aren’t evil. Plus, how do we know that Snape isn’t a double spy? Spying for Dumbledore, and spying for Voldemort. That would make him nuetral. Or he could be giving flase information to one of the groups. In all honesty, it could go either way. Snape could be evil, as you said, but maybe he can be good also. I read somewhere (HP, maybe, i don’t remember though) that the world isn’t divided into good and evil. Maybe Snape is neither. Hope this helps you in whatever way you use it!
