What To Look For In Kids Halloween Costumes?

It brings a smile to my face when I think of the children’s anticipation the days running up to Halloween. We all love to follow tradition and dress up at this time of year; but for them, it’s really something else when they can imitate their favorite characters for the day. With so many new licensed costumes coming out every year, there is always enough choice for you and your children to make this Halloween as fun and memorable as the last.

Many of the costume ideas this year are getting their inspiration from the leading movies such as Harry Potter and Transformers. To stay with the current trends, look at the following suggestions that will have your little ones screaming with joy (or rather fear!)

As mentioned previously, this year’s release of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince has given us a huge array of costumes. Full of wizardry, magic, and fantasy, there is something for every taste. Harry Potter himself will no doubt be at the forefront with his robe embroidered with the Gryffindor emblem, Windsor-style glasses and magic wand. The range of accessories are just as great as the costume itself – Hermione Granger wigs, Quidditch accessories, and not forgetting our feathery friend Hedwig the owl.

If Harry Potter doesn’t tickle their fancy, what about Bumblebee? Let your child ‘transform’ into this small yellow robot, the favorite character for the young, with his wisecracks and risk taking. Typically coming in the form of a yellow jumpsuit with chest piece, a toy arm weapon, and realistic mask, your child will be focus of all their friends!

For the girls, a popular choice is the Monster’s Bride costumes. Something old, something mean, something borrowed, something green! Costumes are characterized with a white dress, black stitching and patches, a black lace-up bodice and green top hat.

Don’t let all the fun of choosing adorable outfits allow you to forget one of the most important aspects of Halloween – safety. Always keep in mind the safety of your child especially when choosing costumes that could be hazardous. The last thing you want is any real-life horror, so stick to costumes that are fire-resistant and quick to remove. If your child is venturing out to ‘trick or treat’, make sure their clothing can be seen in the dark. Your child wants to turn heads just as you do, but they need to be comfortable and if their ensemble requires a mask, fitting it properly so that they can see through it is a must.

It might be good practice to speak with your children before the night gets under way. With so many candles and torches around, it’s best to be safe. Costumes should never be made from paper or highly flammable materials. Polyester is a more sensible option and that goes for any hats and wigs too. Remind them of the dangers of fire, what to do if their clothing catches on flame, and what precautions to take.

Select the best halloween costumes for your kids

As a parent you might be looking for the best attractive Halloween costume for your kid. Halloween is full of fun, thrill and play for kids. During Halloween, kids love to adorn themselves with wild and crazy costumes in order to look stunning and cute. When you think of giving a Halloween costume for your kid, you may choose a Halloween costume representing your favorite cartoon character or pop singer or television character or sports character or famous personality. But there are also a wide variety of funny and scary Halloween costumes for kids. You can either make a Halloween costume for your kid by yourself or you may buy a one through online stores.

Bob-the-Builder is a popular Halloween costume for boy kids, and Hermione Halloween costume is desired among girl kids. The other choices of kids Halloween costumes are Horror Robe, Skeleton Ghost, Witch Angel, happy skull mask, vampires, devils, pumpkin, spider, carrot and other vegetables, peapod, and many more wonderful and attractive creations.

Everybody wants their kid to be the center of attraction at the Halloween party. Dress your kid with attractive Halloween costume and get flattering remarks. However, you may have to spend some time in choosing the right costume for your kids. Giving importance to even the smallest details is very much significant while you buy Halloween costume for your kid.

The first essential factor you have to consider is the level of comfort the costume gives your child. Very tight and body-sticking fabrics can irritate your kid. See to that the Halloween costume is little airy and loose so that your kid feels comfortable. Also, make sure that the Halloween costume you choose for your kid does not restrict your kids movement. See to that you do not choose a Halloween costume that fully covers your child’s face. The next essential factor to be considered while choosing Halloween costume for your kids is the safety factor. Flame-resistant Halloween costumes will be safer for your kids. Your kid’s Halloween costume must be easy to put on and take off. Make sure that the costume clothe is soft and breaths. Also give importance to the type of fabric of the Halloween costume. Cotton Halloween costumes are the best for your child’s skin. Make sure that the decorations on the costume are firmly and securely attached. On the whole, the Halloween costume you choose for your kid must be comfortable and safe besides giving fun and exciting to you and your child. Make sure that the Halloween costume you choose for your child makes your child happy and confident to face the crowd in the Halloween party.

Certainly, you can find different varieties of kids Halloween costumes and Halloween props in the market. But if you go out in the market for buying Halloween costume you have to search in many stores to get the best costume for your kid. In order to get the Halloween costumes for your kids easily, you can use the internet in finding the best one suitable for your kid. In fact, internet is the best source for you to select the best Halloween costume for your kid from home or office. With internet shopping you can have the best Halloween costume for your child without any hassles, worries and tiredness, just by few clicks on your mouse.

Inexpensive Halloween Costumes for You and Your Child

It’s that time of year again when ghosts and goblins roam the streets. Halloween brings out the child in all of us so get into the spirit and collaborate with your child to wear a tag team costume set. Here are some ideas for Halloween costumes that are easy to execute:

Dumbledore and Harry Potter
Any child who knows and loves Harry Potter (which is the majority of children out there) will enjoy if his father dresses up as the all-knowing Dumbledore. You will need to don a robe, a beard, and a wig. As Harry Potter, your child can wear a robe, cape, glasses, the wizard hat, and a fake scar on his forehead.

Both of you should have wands for your Halloween costumes. If you have a daughter who would prefer not to dress up as a boy then she can be Hermione. She could make her hair frizzy and wear preppy clothing like a private school uniform. Don’t forget the robe.

The Skipper and Gilligan
Enter the world of Gilligan’s Island by dressing up as the Skipper and Gilligan for your Halloween costumes. You can easily wear a blue shirt with a white collar, khaki pants, and a captain’s hat. Your child will play the part of Gilligan by wearing a red shirt with a white collar and a sailor hat.

Dr. Evil and Mini Me

The cliched phrase, “The apple does not fall far from the tree” can apply to Halloween costumes as well. In Austin Powers, Dr. Evil and his Mini Me are an unbeatable tag team. If you want to keep your Halloween costumes as simple as possible then you and your child can just wear identical clothing. If you’re interested in mimicking the characters more closely then go to your local costume store or search online to find a more authentic ensemble.

Halloween’s just around the corner. And while your kids are all set to have a blast, they will appreciate your effort and participation in making it a memorable day for them. Find tips to curve halloween pumpkin.

Harry Potter Costumes for That ?Magical? Halloween Night

There are few movies, which have taken the world by storm, and the Harry Potter series is one such. The first Harry Potter movie, titled Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone, created waves in 2001 among all, especially the kids. The latest and the sixth one known as The Half Blood Prince, which was released worldwide this week is not going to be any different. Harry Potter admirers have already started their wait for the release of the seventh release titled Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, which will be released next year. The very theme of the Harry Potter movies is of magic, sorcerers and witches and therefore is perfect attraction for kids who simply cant stay away from them. Harry Potter costumes, without any hint of a doubt, will therefore be a great hit this Halloween.

Little wonder therefore that the relevant web sites are simply awash with Harry Potter costumes. Costume selling websites have hundreds of Halloween costume varieties to offer. Their selection covers costumes for adults, females and children, accessories and make up and masks, hats and wigs! Harry Potter Costumes and Ideas

Halloween is just around the corner, so don’t be caught in the dark as a “Muggle”. Join the gang from the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry this Halloween with Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley Costumes.

Young witches and warlocks can trick or treat with their official Hogwarts robes, scarves, beanies and ties from the Houses of Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw,or Hufflepuff. No Harry Potter costume is complete without a proper wand and witches hat. To complete Hermione Granger’s costume, do not forget to get the tangled mass of hair wig. Your little wizards may even want to get in a game of Quidditch on Halloween with the Golden Snitch and Quidditch Goggles and Robes.
Youngsters can even get in the act with an adorable Hedwig the owl costume. I found Dobbie, the house elf mask very realistic. For the Demon in your child, check out the Dementor, Death Eater or Lord Voldemort Costumes, complete with masks and gnarly hands.

Adults, don’t feel left out. You can join the fun with a Hagrid mask and robes or dress up as a Dementor, Death Eater or (don’t say this outloud) Lord Voldemort. The Mad Eye Moody Mask is a favorite of the aurors. I really love the Dumbledore Mask with the Beard.

For the gals, you may choose to go as Professor McGonagall with her unique witches hat or perhaps Madame Hooch. If you are feeling really Evil, there is even a Beatrix costume.

To top off the costumes and complete the effect, there are witches brooms and an authentic Harry Potter Lantern that is a battery operated replica lantern with a yellow light displaying the Hogwarts Crest and it really lights up! I also like the sorting hat and I may use that as the treat jar for the kids to reach in and get their goodies.

If you and your kids enjoyed the Harry Potter books and movies, you may really enjoy having a Hogwarts Halloween party. There are plenty of characters and costumes to go around and you can have a lot of fun.

Harry Potter Halloween Costumes for the Whole Family

Are you looking for the right Halloween costumes that your family can wear at the parties you’re attending this coming Halloween? If you want to be popular and easily recognized in these parties, Harry Potter costumes are your ideal options. These costumes will surely give you the feel of Hogwarts’ magic, even just for a day!

Why Choose Harry Potter Costumes?

Aside from popularity, Harry Potter costumes are perfect choices because of many other reasons:

Simplicity. With these Halloween costumes, you won’t need a lot of accessories and extra stuff wrapped in your body just to achieve your desired effect. All that you will need are simple robes to imitate the uniform of Hogwarts students. For additional effects, you may want to add other magical stuff like a wand, a broomstick, a wizard hat, or glasses for a Harry look. And for a further Harry Potter feel, you may want to get a stuffed owl (for Harry), a stuffed rat (for Ron), or a stuffed cat (for Hermione).

Inexpensiveness. Unlike other costumes that require elaborate and costly details, you can get Harry Potter costumes at affordable prices (in fact, you can even make your own!). With a little mix and match of some fabric and accessories, plus some make-up for effect, you can successfully pull over a costume without having to spend hundreds of bucks.
Great Variety. When you go for a Harry Potter costume, you’ll never run out of characters. Whether you have a son or a daughter, and whether you’re a mom or a dad, there’s always a wide range of characters to choose from.

Which Harry Potter Character Should You Go For?

You have various choices here, from boys to girls, from young to old, from heroes to villains, and from humans to non-human creatures.

Boy or Girl? For boys, dressing up as Harry Potter or his best friend Ron Weasley will surely be popular. Or to be really convincing there’s the Harry Potter scar makeup kit. No wonder this design is the top costume this year.

Join the struggle against the evil Lord Valdemort. Become Harry Potter and team up your friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger to save the muggle world from the dark lord. There are officially licensed Harry Potter costume. Harry Potter adult men’s costume includes hooded robe, clasp. Shirt and tie are not included. Other accessories available separately. Material is 100% Polyester. Hand wash, Line Dry. Harry Potter adult costume is available in a standard men’s and children’s sizes. Perform Your Own Spells in Official Licensed Harry Potter Robes! My child loved this costume. She is short, so the robe came down to her feet. It’s very light weight, nylon or something similar, with the house badge printed on. The glasses look perfect on her. The wand was fun to wave around, but also the first thing she misplaced. A wand pocket would have been nice, or at least a wristband. The deluxe Harry Potter Gryffindor Robe is an authentic looking costume. My daughter was easily recognized as “the girl from Harry Potter” this past Halloween. She received many complements. She was also quite comfortable wearing the fleece robe out in the cool late October weather. I gave the costume four out of five stars because of all the other items you need to buy separately to make the costume complete. I was pleased to see the quality of the fabric. Usually these costumes are practically tissue paper, i.e., junk. This is a felt/fleece fabric and will be great for Halloween. I was worried about sizing, since some people say they run large, and some small. This size large fits my 11-year-old daughter just PERFECTLY, she is about 60″ tall and regular build, couldn’t have asked for a better mail-order fit. She says she will wear it for a bathrobe after Halloween! I bought this item along with the Hogwarts lantern and the Hermione Granger wand. My daughter already has hours of play and make believe time wearing these items. All items well made too! She will be able to play with these long after Halloween is over.<p>

Harry Potter Halloween Costumes – Wizard Robes and Quidditch Gear

Searching for a few ideas for Harry Potter Halloween Costumes for this year’s costume parties? Dressing up as Harry or one of the other characters commonly seen roaming the halls of Hogwarts is easy and inexpensive, and if you’re anything like me then easy and inexpensive are two key factors to consider when choosing a Halloween costume!

Most Harry Potter costumes require little more than some robes and a wand. Of course, you can get creative with accessories (like a broomstick, or a wizard’s hat, for example) if you want, but with the immense popularity surrounding the books, movies, and toys, even simple Potter themed costumes are bound to get recognized.

Harry Potter costumes are available for purchase at any costume shop, although you can save some money by ordering them online – finding a website that offers them is not difficult at all, and you can also try your luck bidding on eBay.

However, given the simplicity of most Potter costumes, and keeping in mind that Halloween is a great chance to let your creative side shine, why not try your hand at making your own costume? As you can see in the popular series of movies, most of the characters would require very little in the line of clothing, make-up, and accessories to copy. The ease of Harry Potter costumes is another reason that they remain so popular year after year!

Serving The Dark Lord

If you want to stick with the Potter theme, but don’t want to be just another Harry, Hagrid, or Dumbledore at the party, why not try your hand at making a Dementor costume? If you start with a clear picture of a Dementor, you can see that when it comes to Harry Potter costumes, a Dementor costume is an easy way to stay true to the theme while still being a bit original.

When it comes to Harry Potter costumes, a Dementor costume is one of the easiest to make. It requires little more than some black robes, with some black strips of fabric sewn on to them to give your costume a more ghost-like feel. Sheer black fabric can also be used to create the hood of your Dementor costume, and you can use make-up to disguise your face and hands, or splurge a little on a Dementor mask and glove set to really make your costume stand out.

Other Options

And, of course, dressing up as everybody’s favorite boy-wizard is easy to do, too. You’ll need to find a pair of those famous round glasses, of course. They can be purchased inexpensively at a toy store or online, as can his famous striped scarf. Add some robes and a lightning bolt shaped scar on your forehead and your Harry Potter costume is complete! You can add a wand, or even a stuffed white owl, for extra flair.

There are also plenty of options for female Harry Potter costumes. Hermione Granger, Professor McDonnegall, and Bellatrix LeStrange are just a few. Also, there’s no reason there couldn’t be a female Death Eater or a female Dementor.

Book store openings, movies, Halloween – Harry Potter costumes come in handy for many different occasions. No matter which Hogwarts character you choose to dress up as, you’re sure to have a magical time in your Harry Potter costume!

Where can I find a Harry Potter and Hermione costume for toddlers?

Hermione
Mrs. K. asked:

My son is going to be Harry Potter for Halloween and my daughter is going to be Hermione, they are both toddlers. I realize they might now make costumes for a child that small so does any one have any ideas as to what I can do? I was thinking of just making them, but I am not sure.

What would make a good Hermione costume?

Hermione
Happy Harry asked:

Our drama class (all boys school) is doing a Harry Potter based play this year. Because I am a bit shorter than most of the class, I got picked out to play Hermione.

I need to watch the movies and read the books again, but my mom has asked me what my costume (or even costumes) will probably look like, as she is probably going to need to buy some extra things that the school can’t provide.

What do you think would make up a good Hermione costume?
