Itis a written passage in book 4 i don’t think sirius meant to kill him but maybe infect him or scare him
It’s not written anywhere, but Dumbledore tells Harry that his father saved Snape’s live in Book 1 in the hospital wing after Harry gets the sorcerer’s stone.
I don’t think that Sirius really wanted Snape dead.
It was kind of like the relationship between
Draco and Harry.
They both hated eachother emensly,
but they didn’t actually want the other to die in the end.
I think Sirius knew that James (and perhaps, even, himself) would b able to keep Lupin off of Snape… I think he probably just wanted to give him a good scare… though the action certainly could have been percieved as an attempt on his life…
