I want to be a modern (but not slutty) Hermione for Halloween this year. I have a shirt/tie, but need tips for hair/pants/skirt/shoes/make-up/etc. Where could I find good clothes, without buying an actual costume?

I remeber reading afanfiction abt Snape’s life. it was in third person and it has fake references at the bottem, such as slughorn writing a book abt Lily. I remember only part of the plot. I had one part where a young snape worked for a witch who made potions for muggles in order to support his mother. Also after the first train ride, i remember there was a lot of black bashing. Does anyone reconize this story or where it went?
