I don’t think she got the credit she deserved. Examples:
1. In book 7, when she’s breaking on Ron for leaving them, Harry keeps telling her, “He saved my life”. Had he forgetten how many times SHE saved HIM? If it wasn’t for Hermione, Harry would’ve been expelled for the troll incident in book 1, and he never would’ve figured out that riddle to get through the purple flames.
2. In Book 3, if not for her Time-Turner and common sense, Sirius would’ve still been in Azkaban and Buckbeak would’ve been executed.
3. In book 4, she’s the one that worked with Harry so that he could learn the Summoning charm, since Ron was too busy bitching and whining about not getting attention.
She’s always saving everyone, and yet she’s always being to to shut up, or getting yelled at. What’s with that? JK didn’t even have the decency to explain the whole age thing IN THE BOOK. I didn’t know that Hermione was a year older than Harry and Ron until THIS YEAR. She deserves more respect.
softballchickie87:
You are wrong about the ages. In book 3, Hermione stated that she celebrated her birthday in September. Harry was born July, so it would SEEM that she was younger than him, right? But she MUST be older than him because when they learned how to Apparate in book…6, I think, Harry was not old enough to Apparate, but she WAS. So, if Harry was born in July and she was born in September, then she HAS to be older than him, by 10 months. So, she was born in 1979, and Harry was born in 1980, making Hermione the eldest of the three of them(Ron was born March 1, 1980).
Also, I didn’t mean that the whole book should have been about her. I meant that she didn’t get as much credit as Ron did, and she did so much more for Harry. All Ron did was complain all day and get injured. Hermione was tougher than Ron in every way.
